For the official unveiling of the new INDYCAR IR-28, I was commissioned to produce the photorealistic CGI imagery that would introduce the next generation of race car to the world.
Working closely with INDYCAR's in-house creative team and Dallara Automobili, I developed the complete visual presentation using the original engineering CAD data, designing the launch livery and producing the final renders.
Bringing the IR-28 to Life
The project involved assembling the complete vehicle directly from Dallara's engineering CAD, incorporating additional elements including the driver, and developing the materials, lighting and camera compositions needed to showcase the new car.
Working to INDYCAR's creative direction, I explored several visual approaches and environments before the team settled on a clean, understated studio backdrop that let the vehicle's design take centre stage.
I also developed the launch livery, working through the approval process with INDYCAR's creative team. Roger Penske approved the final imagery and livery, providing final input on the livery layout.
The Official Reveal
The completed CGI renders formed part of INDYCAR's official IR-28 unveiling in July 2026, introducing the new vehicle to fans, teams and the wider motorsport industry ahead of its 2028 competition debut.
The project brought together technical accuracy, automotive design understanding and creative visualisation to deliver a cohesive set of launch images for one of motorsport's most significant new vehicle programmes.
